You know when you are working on something you love and when you get that feeling of “can’t wait” each time you are working on it? This is what it was like when we started working on Balboa Italian – and continues to this day!

Balboa Italian is a new restaurant in Palm Beach on the Gold Coast. Founded by owner Cherie Uzan (from the much-loved Avvia Café Restaurant) and in a fantastic beach side location, we were excited to work on this project – starting with their website.

The inspiration for this Italian restaurant goes beyond creating amazing food. Cherie wanted to capture the very essence of Italy – from food and drink, to the very atmosphere you would expect when visiting this European country. Bringing people together to laugh, talk and have fun while eating! Quality, attention to detail and a feeling of community is important, as is looking back in time and remembering different generations enjoying Italian food.

Creating the website, our brief was to capture this and bring in the elements of the amazing fit out to the overall look. We were creating the website whilst the renovations were underway, so we needed to work from descriptions, mood boards and photographs of elements going into the renovations.

Every time we were working on the website, the temptation to click the BOOK NOW button was there, even though we knew it was not open yet! Wanting a website that captured the feel of the restaurant, we set the task to have a look that was a little different. Bringing in elements of the design along with vintage photos from Italy. Easy to navigate, simple and with all the information you need without overdoing it. The menu was in the “coming soon” category. It was hard enough not wanting to eat pasta and pizza each time we worked on it, we were super excited to see the menu. We’re waiting in anticipation for the opening, which we are pleased to add is very soon! The good news is, now we can click on the BOOK NOW button as Balboa Italian is taking bookings from early November for this spectacular new Italian restaurant in Palm Beach, here on the beautiful Gold Coast.
